Geography/Ecology

 

Theme: Locate different types of environment in Northwestern Nevada.

Questions to ask:

1.      What kind of environments did the Kuyui-Dokado band of the  Northern Paiute live in?

2.      Why do you think they traveled to different areas?

 

Supplies:

1.      Map of Area (Nevada, California, Oregon)

2.      Encyclopedia, Atlases etc.

3.      Colored pencils, stamps, etc.

 

Alternate supplies: (Computer Classrooms)

1.      Outline Map online or on disk of area (Nevada, California, Oregon)

2.      GIF’s of symbols for trees, marsh etc.

Time Requirements:

1.      Reading of the chapter: 20 minutes

2.      Instructions and organization of materials: 10 minutes

3.      Research: 20 minutes

4.      Map Making:  20-40 minutes or as homework
